Naia Turns 2!| Kirkland, WA Child & Family Photographer
Posted on June 2, 2011

This is Naia-she just turned 2 years old. Isn’t she just the cutest?! It has been my pleasure to photograph her 3 times since we met when she turned one. She has changed oh-so-much in just one year! Her hair started out a lovely shade of red, but has since grown in a beautiful blonde, with the most beautiful highlights that no salon could possibly match. And, her curls are to die for. She runs around like nobody’s business, loves balloons and pointed out all the birds and boats for us at the beach.
She has quite the little personality now as well. The faces she makes slay me every time I look at the photos. And, she loves her kitty. She thinks her mama and daddy are pretty swell too. I love the love in this little family. :)

And, just so you guys know, if and when you move to Italy-I WILL be invading your home and taking photos of you while you La Dolce Vita.

We TOTALLY lucked out with the rain that had been on and off all day and did not even have a sprinkle the entire time we were shooting at the Bellevue Botanical Gardens last Thursday evening! This was a fun shoot, since it was a surprise for their mama for Mother’s Day. They have not had a photo together since Cherie was in Junior High-so it was definitely time! Especially with the good looks of this gene pool!
It was good times hiking around the gardens looking for fun spots and (me) watching some grown up siblings interact. It’s always fun to see family dynamics at work.
Thanks for letting me take your photos guys!

You may remember that 6 months ago I got the very special honor of being one of the first people in the world to meet sweet Elowen when I got to photograph her very first shoot.
How fast the times goes and here she is already 6 months old!
She has grown into a sweet girl who is sitting up, working on teeth and has a very special bond with big brother Magnus. Elowen wasn’t really feeling the smiles the day we did her photos, that is, until Magnus came to make her laugh…my camera will never be as good as a big brother, that’s fo shizzle.
Please, prepare yourself for the cuteness before scrolling down-I can’t be held responsible for things like baby fever once you see more of her cheeks and stunning blue eyes. Heh.

Ah…the life of a mama. So sweet.
Sydney Turns 3!|Seattle Children’s Photographer
Posted on December 8, 2010

Saturday morning I got to photograph Sydney for her 3rd birthday! It was super special, since it was her actual birthday and the beautiful winter sun was out in it’s full glory. That is not to say it wasn’t bitter cold still though!! But, Sydney was a trooper and tried to keep the rest of us warm by making us run down the beach with her. I didn’t need a “real” workout that day, that’s for sure.
Despite the cold, it was a fun shoot and could not have been a prettier day with the bluest skies and water to make Sydney’s photos really pop! Sometimes I think the sky looks most blue when it is freezing and sunny. Just beautiful.
Happy happy 3rd birthday cute girl!

This past Saturday I got to photograph my first out of town family-The Hoffs. They are a totally fun little family of 3. Their sweet girl is seriously one of THE happiest babies I have ever had the pleasure to meet. It was not at all hard to catch her smiling or laughing, even though it was freezing and windy at Gasworks Park that day.
I am so completely honored that they saw the photographs I took for their family-The Steeles-and wanted to spend a bit of their short Thanksgiving vacation with me to take their photos.
We met for brunch at Chandler’s beforehand and it was great getting to chat and have a wonderful meal before heading to the park for photos. I can’t imagine a better Saturday morning that involves working.
Thank you to both the Steeles and the Hoffs for letting me be your photographer! I’ve enjoyed every minute of hanging out and photographing you all!

Meet baby Connor-he is the newest, sweet addition at the Gattie’s House. So far he seems like a very laid back little guy and let his mama and me play around with him for some photographs until he got hungry.
I am lucky to have met Ann through a mutual friend about a year ago and am happy to say we’ve hit it off. She is a sassy, southern lady and her boys are all handsome gentlemen.
The Gattie’s are a super sweet little family of 4 now and I am so happy I was welcomed into their home to document some memories of the first incredible (but so easily forgotten, with so little sleep at the home of a newborn) days of little Connor’s life.

Congratulations Ann, Tim & Big Brother Aidan! And, welcome to the world sweet baby Conner!

I got to go meet the newest little Gattie yesterday afternoon, along with the Gattie grandparents, who were very sweet. This is the second time I’ve gotten to photograph members of this family. The Gattie’s were my VERY first clients back in April. 7 months later, I’m so glad they thought of me for such a special family time. Aidan is a sweet big brother and even let us dress him up in a silly mustache (these things slay me lately!).
They are a sweet little family of four now and I can’t wait to go back in a few days to give little Connor his very own photo session! Congratulations Gatties!
All hands in…

My family and I had great time hanging out with the Crocketts yesterday at Marymoor Park. Their two boys and our one boy had fun running around with the dogs, stomping in the mud and climbing trees. All had a dirty, messy awesome time, as it should be.
Adam and I go way back…sort of. We met 20 (!!) years ago at a church function where our families hit it off and went out to eat together quite a bit. After said function, we came back to Spanaway and they went back to Arkansas. We kept in touch for a while via snail mail (yes, we’re old, heh), but eventually got busy with our teenage lives and lost track of eachother.
Fast forward to the days of Facebook and random searches for people I suddenly remember from my past and voila! There was Adam Crockett. Living in Burien…huh?!! And to top it off, I found out his wife, the awesome Heather, (www.shotbyheather.com) is a photographer too! It took about a year and a half of FB chats and comments, but we finally managed to meet up at my art show in August. I knew from the minute I met Heather she was a kindred spirit. I feel like I’ve known her forever and am so glad all of the stars aligned so we could meet.
Our boys play nicely (for the most part
) together, we can talk shop and they are willing to wear mustaches to satisfy my creative agenda. What more could a girl ask for in friends? Heh.
I’m definitely looking forward to our next kid/doggie playdate. You Crocketts Rock!

The Doucette Family|Seattle Family Photographer

Sunday morning I met up with the Doucettes and got to take their family’s photographs on what turned out to be a gorgeous day in Seattle!
It’s been a while since we’ve hung out and the girls are both so big now! They’re little ladies and not so much babies any more. How does the time go by so fast?! They are both super sweet and cute too! Ed and Nicole, your family is gorgeous! Thank you for letting me be your photographer!
They are a super fun little family to hang around with and I had a great time with them. I love it when my peeps have some of their own fun ideas for photos too. After all, these images are going to be theirs to hang on their walls or put in fun books and I love it when they have some of their own personal touches in them. Plus, it’s good times.
